In view of the corona epidemic, many state boards, including the CBSE, have canceled the 10th and 12th exams. The same Vishwa-Bharati University announced on Thursday that pre-degree exams of its two schools, Path Bhavan and Academic Session, will be conducted online from July 5.
The notification was issued at a time when the West Bengal School Education Department should release an alternative assessment method for the secondary and higher secondary examination candidates as the exams have already been canceled.
The decision to conduct the test was taken at a meeting of the Vice Chancellors
The announcement was made in the presence of directors, principals, practitioners, dean of student welfare and other officials involved in the examination or evaluation process at a meeting on June 8, chaired by the vice chancellors. Path Bhavan and Education Session Pre-Graduate Examinations will be conducted online from July 5th.
The viva test will also be conducted online
The notice stated that the viva-voce test would also be conducted online and after the school certificate examination. It is noteworthy that for the students of World India, both exams are equivalent to the final board exams of 10th and 12th grade. Under the Vishwa-Bharati University, two schools offer pre-degree (10 + 2) courses in science and humanities.
The number of students in both Vishwa-Bharati schools is not more than 200
If External Residential students are admitted to the Path Bhavan, External Day Scholars will attend the academic session. But, unlike the lakh candidates who attend the secondary and higher secondary examinations, the number of students in both Vishwa-Bharati schools does not exceed 200. “It is not too difficult to conduct an online test,” a university official said.
