Addressing a gathering of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, President Ramanath Kovind said that if India celebrates the centenary of independence in 2047, it genuinely hopes that it will be a free and developed country.

Referring to Babasaheb Ambedkar, the president said that education has no meaning unless educated people come forward for the benefit of society. Now “our daughters are giving the country a greater reputation than our sons.”
