The Orissa government will provide free education to orphaned children during the corona period

With the second wave of the corona virus epidemic, many people are homeless, but hundreds of children are orphaned during this period. The Odisha government has decided to take responsibility for the state’s orphaned children. The government has spoken about giving free education to orphaned children. In fact, currently 35 children in the state have lost their parents to the epidemic. Therefore, the Tahsildars of all the districts have been asked to give a detailed report on all the children who have been orphaned due to the epidemic. At the same time, the Odisha government will provide free education to all children who have lost their parents in the Kovid 19 epidemic under its ‘Green Passage’ scheme, officials said.

According to officials, the project will cover children’s admission, tuition and testing fees for school and higher education, including technical education, engineering. The children will also be given a pension of Rs 2,000 per month. At the same time, the children will also be given an advance pension for June, July and August.

Women and Child Development Department Advisor Sulata Deo said the state government has launched a ‘Green Passage’ scheme for higher education in Odisha, in the case of Kovid’s 19 orphaned children, whose education costs cover the school at all levels. If the plan has been implemented for this purpose and the orphaned child is studying in a private institution, the government will also bear its costs.
