‘The Hundred’ will start from July 21, women cricketers will enter the opening match

The England and Welsh Cricket Board (ECB) conducted a new experiment last year and launched a tournament called ‘The Hundred’. The first season of this 100-ball tournament was postponed due to the corona virus.

However, now the board has released the schedule of 2021 season and it will start from July 21.

Significantly, the tournament will begin with the women’s team match.

Women’s Hundred’s head Baret-Wild told ESPNCricinfo that all women’s matches would be played first.

He added, “We had a lot of talk that we could change it, but we did some trials in which women were playing after men and sometimes you might get a different atmosphere. They did men’s matches in the Super League. I went after where the atmosphere was quite disheartening and people were leaving the grounds. ”

Both matches will be seen in the same ticket
Ticket sales will start in April. The tickets sold last year provided cheap tickets for women’s matches. However, this year there will be an opportunity to watch both matches at the ticket price of the men’s matches.

Barett said, “One has to take the ticket, but the price will be so good that buying it with full match-day experience will prove worthwhile.”
