The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the July 2021 exam result. Ruth Claire D’Silva, a resident of the Old Course in Karnataka, Mangalore, has been awarded the All India Rank (AIR) 1 of the Chartered Accountant (CA) Examination of July 2021. D’Silva attended the old curriculum of a chartered accountant.
In her third attempt, Ruth Clare D’Silva topped the Chartered Accountants (CA) final exam (old course) merit list. Ruth was second with 472 points (59 per cent) and Malavika R Krishnan with 446 points (55.75 per cent).
I’ve been working hard for five years
Speaking to ANI, D’Silva said, “I am really proud of myself and very happy to have been rewarded for my work. I have been working hard for this for the last five years.” She says, “It’s great to see everyone around me happy. It’s a collective achievement. I want to thank my family who supported me through my ups and downs.”
D’Silva said his brother-in-law was also a CA and helped and supported him on this exhausting journey.
An organized study
After failing in her last two attempts, Ruth credits her organized preparation strategy. She says, “I studied CA for six hours a day with materials online and offline. I followed YouTube lectures, edtech platforms and Atul and Ajay Agarwal’s books. Books of their indirect taxes.
After a while they choose careers
Talking about her career plans, she said, “I am still considering my options. Of course, I will get some employment but I will take some time off and choose my career.”
