The corona epidemic has hampered most students’ studies. Since last year, many tests have had to be canceled in many states around the country. Now, like other state governments, the Punjab government has decided to cancel the 12th test. In addition, the government has decided to give the numbers to students in the form of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Based on the achievement in 10th, 11th and 12th grades, the students’ results are prepared according to the formula of 30:30:40. Announcing the decision, Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said that the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) would also follow the pattern of the Central Secondary Education Board (CBSE).
Evaluation based on 10th, 11th and 12th Eastern Board
The Minister of Education Vijay Inder Singla said that the PSEB will prepare a draft of the result, which will give 30 per cent weight on the performance of Theory Paper in three of the five core subjects of class 10 and pre-board and practical exams in 11th grade. Performance weighs 30 percent. Following this, 40 percent of the weight will be awarded to the achievement of 12th grade students in pre-board, practical and internal assessment.
No 11th achievement in the assessment of students who have changed the stream
The students who changed their stream after 11, the achievement of 10 and 12 will be the basis for preparing their results, the Education Minister said. He said such students would be weighed on the marks obtained in pre-board, clinical examination and internal assessment in grades 10 and 12. Speaking to Education Minister Singla, the decision on the 12th exam is a matter of time and students and parents are worried about how the students will study further.
Examination for dissatisfied students
The Minister of Education said that if the situation is favorable for students who are not satisfied with the result, the test will be conducted. A total of 3,08,000 students have registered themselves for PSEB Examination in Punjab for the 2020-21 academic session. It also includes students from government and some private schools. First, CBSE canceled the 12th test. After this, many states have even canceled their board exams. Due to Kovid, many states including Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra have canceled their board exams.
