The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is preparing to become India’s first board of education to conduct board exams online by 2022. Due to the epidemic, classes were not carried out physically, causing considerable loss of student study. To avoid any such academic loss in the future, NIOS has recently launched the first kind of virtual school for its 40 lakh learners.
Virtual School is India’s first school to focus on teaching and learning models through non-traditional methods such as virtual live classrooms and virtual labs.
NIOS Provides secondary and senior secondary education in 14 languages
NIOS is the only board of education in the country that provides secondary and senior secondary education in 14 languages. Due to the Covid situation, NIOS could not conduct its board exams as well as demand tests in 2020 and 2021. It conducts board examinations annually for about five lakh candidates.

However, considering the digital divide, NIOS currently selects hybrid mode to open online and offline options.
