Career in PharmacyThe National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the most preferred entrance test for medical candidates and the only admission test in India for MBBS admission. NEET is a very competitive exam, with over 15 lakh students appearing every year and some of them enrolling for MBBS and BDS courses. Many students choose pharmacy as an alternative career option. Students studying science at the higher secondary level can get admission to the pharmacy course. This course is available at various levels such as undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma. We will tell you what entrance exams are offered in the country for admission to pharmacy courses.
1-Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT)
GPAT is a National Level Entrance Examination and the National Examination Institute (NTA) offers admission to MP Pharma and equivalent courses. This is a computer based test (CBT), which is conducted annually.
2-Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) Pharmacy Entrance Examination
Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) Pharmacy Entrance Examination is conducted for admission to B Pharma and D Pharma courses. B.Pharm candidates must have passed 12th class with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) subjects and D Pharma candidates should have B Pharma or equivalent degree.
3-National Institute of Drug Education and Research Joint entry test Or NIPER JEE
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Joint Entrance Examination (NIPER JEE) is conducted for admission in Pharmacy (MFARM), Masters of Science (MS Form), Masters of Technology Pharmacy (M Tech Form) and PhD program in Pharmacy. Through NIPER JEE, admission to NIPER JEE institutions in Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Roy Bareilly and SAS.
The Nursie Monzi Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) runs the NPAT for admission to BPharm + MBA (Pharmacy Tech). Based on the NMIMS NPAT result, admission is offered at NPAT institutions in Mumbai, Shirapur and Hyderabad.
5-Chhattisgarh Pre-Pharmacy Test (CG PPHT))
CG PPHT is conducted for admission to the Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma) and Doctor of Pharmacy (DPharma) courses. After qualifying, students can apply for admission to the Pharmacy Colleges of Chhattisgarh.
6-TS tests Pharmacy
TS EAMCET is used for pharmacy admission other than engineering and agriculture courses. This is a statewide test run in a computer based manner.
7-AP EAMCET Pharmacy
AP EAMCET is now known as Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Pharmacy General Admission Test (AP EAPCET). This is a state-level entrance test. This test is used for admission to B Form and Doctor of Pharmacy (Form D) courses. Apart from these, various states conduct CET for Pharmacy Admission at undergraduate level.
