UPI Payment Down: The Unified Payment Interface (UPI), a quick payment gateway managed by the National Payments Council of India (NPCI), has been unavailable for more than an hour. After the UPI server went down, many users began reporting on social media that the UPI server was down and unable to do any transactions using digital wallets or online payment services such as Google Pay, Phone Pay and PayTM. Many users were wondering if there was really a problem with UPI or if it was a problem on their part.
Some users have posted screenshots of their failed UPI transaction on social media. One such user said that he had been trying to make a payment through Google Pay for a few hours but was unable to do so. However, at 5.18 pm the NPCI tweeted, ‘Sorry for the inconvenience caused to UPI users due to technical problem. The UPI service is now operating and we are closely monitoring the system.
