AISHE Report 2019-20: 11.4% increase in student enrollment in higher education, PhD 60% increase

The All India Higher Education Survey (AISH) report was released by the Ministry of Education on Thursday, 2019-20. According to this report, student enrollment for higher education has increased by 11.4 percent over the past five years from 2015-16 to 20219-20. At the same time, women’s enrollment is up 18.2 percent.

According to the AISHE 2019-20 report, the total student enrollment for higher education is 3.85 crores in 2019-20, an increase of 11.36 lakh (3.04 per cent) compared to 3.74 crores in 2018-19, while the total enrollment is Rs. According to the report, 3.38 crore students are enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, of which approximately 85 percent (2.85 crore) are enrolled in six major subjects: humanities, science, commerce, engineering and technology, medical science and IT and computer.
