44 candidates got 100 percentile in JEE Main Examination results

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the JEE-main result of the engineering entrance test on Tuesday night. A total of 44 candidates received 100 percentile in the declared result. 18 candidates have been awarded the top rank. Officials from the Ministry of Education gave this information Tuesday night.

The test is conducted in four stages

Since this year, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) – four times a year – has been conducted to give students the opportunity to improve their scores. The first stage was held in February and the second in March.

The next phase of testing was to take place in April and May, but the second wave of the Kovid-19 pandemic in the country was postponed. The third stage was held from July 20-25 and the fourth stage was held from August 26 to September 2.

More than nine lakh students participated

The NTA has released the final merit list based on the best of the four tests. In total, 934,602 students were said to have passed the exam. According to the NTA, 6.2 lakh students appeared in the first phase. After that there was a drop in the number of students attending the next rounds. 5.6 lakhs in the second stage, 5.4 lakhs in the third stage and 4.8 lakhs in the fourth stage.
